Artist Statement

My work is heavily influenced by surrealism. The weird and unexpected have always fascinated me and painting has allowed me to explore the depths of my own imagination. I use acrylic paint to capture my ideas on canvas. My current paintings incorporate eyes. To me, eyes are the most important symbolic sensory organ. They can represent windows into ones soul, intelligence, perspective and truth. My paintings represent an honest portrayal of my relationship to the stigmatization of mental illness via my use of eyes.
